Hair Issues? why yes i do!

so a few months ago I started to notice when I would wash my hair that chunks of it was falling out and I would end up with 2 hands full :( I had recently got my hair dyed and why I do believe that was half of the factor  I don't think it was all of it (I remember sitting in the chair while getting it done and telling my sister in law how a few days before I washed it and a lot of it had broken off) I went to the doctor and he did some test.. my iron was really low (which also could have played a role) I also was stressed pretty much to the max with job issues (a whole different story for a later time) but I would just cry to my husband and say I don't understand why this is happening?! I wanted to stop washing my hair bc I felt if I washed it just one more time I'd be bald O_O

at the end of the day its "just" hair... for some reason "society" reasons we feel less beautiful w/o it which would explain the weave epidemic! and not that I have anything against bc it surely is beautiful and does some transformations and I have wore it and was surely headed to the hair store had I lost it all completely but I do give kudos to those that are natural... that are saying "hey society, I don't give a EFF word what you think... I'm going to be me!" I think that's beautiful and beyond! however, ill be honest and say I am not that secure in myself as of yet.. I guess I still like to hide behind my hair (i'll work on that) but okay back to this hair loss situation; so I started to take my iron supplements and then I started to do a lot of researching about hairs and shampoo's and so on and so on (I was a bit obsessed) I had a friend tell me about co-washing which is strictly cutting out shampoo's and using conditioner only. while shampoo's strip your of all the nastiness it also has a lot of strong  ingredients that aren't good for your hair.

I haven't completely transitioned over to co- washing yet but I did do my home work on what's good for your hair and what to feed it to make it thicken and stronger. a few things are: aloe juice, rosemary oil, the 3 omega fatty acids and biotin. well while I was out searching for this perfect "natural" shampoo that I didn't think I was going to find, I actually did!

at least for now I feel like its the perfect one. No sulfates or any of the bad stuff... all natural and with the right ingredients to get your hair back to a healthy state. here's a before and after picture (mind you I have been spending more time than usual on my hair with feeding it and wearing hairstyles that I don't always want to wear but I'm starting to notice a change for the better and getting my hair back on track)

my hair still isn't where I wish for it to be and I do realize it'll take some time but THANK GOD for the growth on my edges that i'm starting to see and now the focus is to get it fuller bc its still very very thin :/ but hey it could be a lot worse.. on the bright side I still have something to work with, so let me be grateful :) any who just thought I'd share this little experience and maybe some of the info will help someone. Not saying that these products will work on every one the same and im sure everyone wont like it but its certainly worth the shot!

Just pick it up and seek what you're looking for ;)

Whatever the need of the moment, the answer is to be found in the scripture (that's if we take the time to search for it) whatever we're feeling, whatever we're suffering, whatever we're hoping... The Bible has something to say to us!

Repeat after me.... Beginning today

-Beginning today I will no longer worry about yesterday. It is in the past and the past will never change. Only I can change by choosing to do so.

-Beginning today I will no longer worry about tomorrow. Tomorrow will always be there, waiting for me to make the most of it. But I cannot make the most of tomorrow without first making the most of today.

-Beginning today I will look in the mirror and I will see a person worthy of my respect and admiration. This capable person looking back at me is someone I enjoy spending time with and someone I would like to get to know better.

-Beginning today I will cherish each moment of my life. I value this gift bestowed upon me in this world and I will unselfishly share this gift with others.I will use this gift to enhance the lives of others.

-Beginning today I will take a moment to step off the beaten path and to revel in the mysteries I encounter.I will face challenges with courage and determination.
I will overcome what barriers there may be which hinder my quest for growth and self-improvement.

-Beginning today I will take life one day at a time, one step at a time. Discouragement will not be allowed to taint my positive self-image, my desire to succeed or my capacity to love.

-Beginning today I walk with renewed faith in human kindness. Regardless of what has gone before, I believe there is hope for a brighter and better future.

-Beginning today I will open my mind and my heart. I will welcome new experiences. I will meet new people.I will not expect perfection from myself nor anyone else:perfection does not exist in an imperfect world. But I will applaud the attempt to overcome human foibles.

-Beginning today I am responsible for my own happiness and I will do things that make me happy & admire the beautiful wonders of nature, listen to my favorite music, pet a kitten or a puppy, soak in a bubble bath & pleasure can be found in the most simple of gestures.

-Beginning today I will learn something new I will try something different I will savor all the various flavors life has to offer. I will change what I can and the rest I will let go. I will strive to become the best me I can possibly be.

-Beginning today. And every day.

Date Night in mind?

Soo" I am always thinking of ways to keep things a little spiced up between my husband and I (no mater what people say, relationships ARE work! shouldn't be too much work but you have to be willing to put in here and there) and sometimes we as people get so over whelmed with life, work etc etc that we tend to forget "the dating stage" well here's a way to fix that problem and help you to remember to get that old thing back! I ran across the idea of "Date Night Jars" its a really cute idea that's fun and I am sure it would add a little extra to your life, I recommend it to be tried! get a Jar, buy you some popsicle sticks from a crafty store (or if you want to recycle the ones you've eaten already please do so) decorate your jar, write whatever it is the 2 of you desire to do and wa-lah" find a time to pick out of the jar and follow suit!
here are a few ideas you could write on your sticks
1. Cook a late night dinner together
2. Write a Prayer list and Pray together
3. Go to a bar and pretend to not know each other (send him a drink)
4. Go out for a dessert date only
5. Or stay inside and bake something together (make it fun.. wink ;)
6. Play a video or Card game
 7. Breakfast in Bed (talk about some goals)
8. Picnic at the park
9. Visit a sex store
10. Go stay at local hotel but pretend you're out of town!

Whatever you do HAVE FUN! and if you want, share some of your ideas with me and how it worked out for you! -XO xO

60 Little Tips that can Change a Girl's Life :)

I was browsing and ran across these little tips and loved them (thought I'd share) some I apply to life already and some I'm definitely about to start doing ;)

One small step for girls... one giant leap for womankind.
  1. Download a banking app.
  2. Drink more herbal tea. It will save your life.
  3. Making your own coffee/tea instead of buying it will make you a rich woman.
  4. Always have at least 6 chap sticks stocked up.
  5. Check out thrift stores. You may have to wash things three times before you get the old lady smell out, but it’s well worth it.
  6. Never buy cheap jeans.
  7. Buy cheap sunglasses instead.
  8. Don’t chase boys.
  9. Wrinkle spray and a hair dryer erase all need to ever use an iron for all of you lazy ironers like me.
  10. Wear slippers when you have to drive in heels.
  11. Wear slippers when you’re travelling.
  12. Wear slippers at all moments that it’s even slightly acceptable to wear slippers.
  13. Spend a little extra money on your make up; it’s so worth it.
  14. Get running sneakers that are actually effective and not just cute.
  15. NEVER go to bed with your make up on.
  16. Get like a thousand packs of make up wipes, because they work the best.
  17. Buy your wine from a box, it’s way more cost efficient and being “wine classy” is so overrated.
  18. Carry headphones in your pocket at all times.
  19. Pick your girls over your boyfriend often, because almost always, the guys come and go and the girls are still there.
  20. Get a really nice strapless or “sticky bra” and you will realize how much better everything looks without your old straps popping out.
  21. Wash your face.
  22. THE DOLLAR TREE CAN AND WILL SAVE YOUR SOUL.
  23. Never neglect to paint your toe nails.
  24. Eat breakfast.
  25. Make a summer playlist for when you need to walk in the cold and start actually getting depressed.
  26. Get a super awesome coffee mug.
  27. Realize that you can pull off red lipstick, rock it girl.
  28. Make guys take you on dates that don’t involve a bar or dingy basement.
  29. Never try dieting pills or fads. It’s all a bunch of garbage, just be healthy.
  30. Call your mom when you need help.
  31. Forget name brands. No one really cares, and you will have three times the wardrobe to choose from if you shop at Tj Maxx and Marshalls first.
  32. Make sure you have at least one friend that likes your favorite TV shows.
  33. And your favorite snacks.
  34. There is this amazing invention called “boob tape” to wear with strapless dresses and you need to purchase it. You don’t need twenty candid photos of you pulling up your dress on the dance floor at a formal event anymore.
  35. Ask for a white coat underneath the color when you get your nails done and the color you wanted looks so much more vibrant. Also, go for the glitz nail.
  36. Never spend too much time crying over a boy.
  37. Order the dressing or sauce on the side ladies. You’d be amazed at the difference.
  38. Always try clothing on before you buy it. Don’t even try to reason with yourself, “Well I don’t need to try this on”, yes you do.
  39. Drink as much water as humanly possible.
  40. One foundation does not fit all. Your skin is unique; so spend the time to get a foundation that doesn’t look like you just smudged your face with paint.
  41. Use your iCalendar on your phone for reminders. It sends you emails and will give you instant organization.
  42. Get a microwaveable heat pad. Your cramps and back will thank you for the rest of your days.
  43. Understand that Ben and Jerry’s will always be the best remedy for a broken heart and no shame is ever needed in that.
  44. Stock your car, desk, and bags with hand sanitizer.
  45. Keep Advil in your purse for your every day headaches.
  46. Band-Aids too, heels are beautiful little monsters.
  47. Befriend store associates because they actually will help you.
  48. Light butter popcorn is actually a great choice.
  49. Exercise when you’re stressed out.
  50. You can and will never have too many pairs of underwear. Buy as many as you want girlfriend.
  51. Find the perfect moisturizer.
  52. Accessories are life changing.
  53. Take bubble baths.
  54. Have granola bars on hand at all times.
  55. Read as much as you can for your own enjoyment. You shouldn’t forget about what interests you.
  56. Look natural in photos and smile with your teeth. Don’t do that weird grimace smile; your teeth are perfect just the way they are.
  57. Don’t blow off going to the doctor or dentist. It’s incredibly important to take care of your body.
  58. Get your beauty sleep.
  59. Use hand lotion.
  60. Make chocolate chip pancakes when ever possible.

im a tougH Girl survivior (my story, my testimony)

(this was written back in 2013) So as I’m approaching the end of my pregnancy and Hg awareness day is this month (May 15th) I thought that I would share my experience of Hyperemesis… in hopes that maybe it will help someone? I’m not sure but it definitely feels freeing for me to just release these feelings ;)

When I became pregnant back in September, I knew what I was getting myself into... it was an either now or never sort of thing because this was not my first battle with what I call a “living in hell” condition. See I have been here before but lost, I became very angry with life and my faith was questionable… how could I be blessed with such a beautiful thing but it be taken away from me?

Hyper-emesis Gravid-arum (HG) is a debilitating and potentially life-threatening pregnancy disease. Women have lost their lives, babies and sanity while facing this battle. There certainly needs to be more research and education done! It bothers me that something this serious can be chalked up to “oh it’s just severe morning sickness”  but NO! No it’s not, for me and many others it was beyond!
When I first began to get sick, I had doctors who would just dope me up on meds and send me home. I watched them whisper and make a mockery out of me. I was told “you’re pregnant, this is what comes with it” I doubt vomiting 20+ times a day and not being able to keep anything down is something that “just” comes along with pregnancy. I knew something was wrong. It felt like a violent stomach flu and the worse food poisoning ever, except that it wouldn’t go away in just a few days. I had to deal with nausea and vomiting 24-7, it wouldn’t stop. Even when I had nothing in me, my body would want to keep trying until blood and bile would come up. I became so weakened by this. I would pray and pray that God would put me into the right hands. I remember looking into the mirror and seeing myself and not noticing who I was, I began talking to myself and not knowing why?  my body had reached dangerous levels which would explain if you ever seen a homeless person talking to themselves or looking like they have fallen off the wagon? There’s reason… It is something that they cannot help! the lack of nutrition and the things your body needs to survive are very crucial when it comes to keeping your body functioning correctly. I just wanted to give up, I felt like I was going to die… I couldn’t walk and it would even make me sick to talk, I felt completely ill. I was bed ridden, I was starving, I was losing weight, I couldn’t take showers, I had to get around in a wheel chair, I had to depend on iv’s to keep surviving, I watched my body deteriorate … I had to live in the hospital for 40 days and it was depressing to say the least. But this is what “comes with pregnancy?” many women end up aborting much wanted babies because it is just too much to bare and especially without proper treatment. It’s very traumatic and very unfortunate.

With all of this happening to me, I knew that I couldn’t do this alone. It is such little known education on this condition and hardly anyone understood, it was very frustrating for me. Everyone thought they knew but didn’t, no one was listening to me, so I knew God/Jesus was all that I really had while everyone else just “meant well”. See I was angry at him before and this is where my faith became questionable the other 2 times. For 23 days straight I could not eat or drink anything, yes I wanted to! That was torture for me but it was as if my body was rejecting my pregnancy and I was allergic to it, it just wouldn’t take. I had days where I just begged God to end it and take the misery away L Eventually, the doctors decided in order for me to survive and to help the baby I would need a picc line. They put a hole in my arm and drew a line through my vein that went to my heart, it was dangerous but I was too sick to care. It supplied me what we needed through bags of IV’s (hated it) after 3 weeks of having it and still no progress, one of the doctors suggested that I terminate the pregnancy :/ I had nurses who came into my room telling me that I was going to lose the baby if I didn’t do this or if I didn’t do that. They even called a psychiatrist in on me, trying to imply that I had mental issues and a eating disorder (really?) Well none of the above was true and thankfully the psychiatrist was able to justify that but they still gave me a hard time. It just hurt to be mistreated the way that I was over something that I couldn’t explain or control.

The same doctor who suggested the termination came in one day and just snatched the tubes, the IV’s and everything that was keeping my body some-what functioning. I felt defeated, I knew if things didn’t change I would either lose the baby or die trying to keep her. They sent me home, one of the nurses was furious by this decision and so was I but I knew I had kept God with me and this was his battle and that he made no mistakes! It was until I got home and sick again having to sleep with my head over the toilet and out of breath that I said I give up! I can’t do this any longer. I went back into the Er and was admitted again. I had hoped to see the doctor who suggested the termination, I just needed some relief, and I was so tired of feeling ill none stop. I felt trapped, like nothing was going to fix it but that. Ironically, he was the doctor who came in the room that morning, so I saw it as a sign (at the time) I told him and he said that they would arrange it. I didn’t know what I was going to tell my husband, I didn’t want to let him down. Although, he was so supportive and said my health came first but I knew he wanted this.  Once they got me back stable into a mind set that could really think for itself, I was able to think more clearly. I didn’t know what came over me (well I do) God! Jesus! One of the two, maybe both… But I said I could NOT do it, I just could not terminate and I realized that, that doctor coming in that morning was NOT a sign! It was bait, it was a TEST!  Was I going to believe in his word and trust him like I’ve been saying I was going to? When they released me 5 days later, it took a day or 2 but things just suddenly started to change. That constant ill feeling subsided, the meds started to work, I was eating and drinking enough to keep my body out of the danger zones and I know it was only because of my faith! I didn’t know where taking that chance of going home and trying again was going to lead me but I just knew that I had to fully trust, let go and let God! He promised and I received! Now here I am with a healthy baby growing inside of me! (she’s now born and will turn a yr old May30th)  He is SO worthy to be praised and I will never be ashamed or afraid to open up about what he has brought me through! If only people knew the half… there is a reason that I am the way that I am, every flaw and every positive!

I could be angry but I’m not, I know this wasn’t done in vain, I have been able to find a positive side to it. Hg has given me a lot of confidence that I can conquer anything, you have to feel invincible after surviving something like this. it has taken away fears and doubts that I once had... It has made me appreciate EVERYTHING ! when you go w/o eating or drinking, not being able to shower, bed ridden, can only get around in a wheel chair it's an eye opener to never take things for granted. Especially health, apparently i never knew what really being sick was, a few days of a bad cold etc is nothing! It has made me to not sweat the small stuff.. It was hell to go through and life changing on many many levels!  LIFE IS GOOD AND GOD IS GREAT!!!! just when your about to give up is when your Blessings are right around the corner... so DON'T! just Believe :)
